Intro
The Toyota Camry is a mid-sized sedan from the Japanese car maker Toyota. It was introduced in 1982 and has gone through many updates. After the Corolla, the Camry has been very successful worldwide and has many loyal buyers. From 1979 to 1982, the Camry was a small vehicle called the Celica Camry.
At that time, it was a compact four-door sedan with rear-wheel drive and a front engine. It also had a 5-speed manual and a 4-speed automatic transmission. The engines included 1.5L, 1.8L, and 2.0L versions. Today, the Camry competes strongly with the Honda Accord around the world.
The Camry V10 to V50 had narrow body styles. These versions were introduced in 1982, and their production stopped in 2003. In 1986, a station wagon version was added, but it was discontinued in 1990 because of poor sales. During this time, only four-cylinder engines were available. Even in these older models, the Toyota Camry came with many standard features. These included power steering, power windows, power mirrors, adjustable steering, and a rear folding armrest.
After these versions, a wide-body style was introduced, and the Camry became a mid-sized sedan.
The Camry XV10 to XV70 were called wide-body sedans and were introduced in 1991. A V6 petrol engine was added in 1996 and has been part of the Camry lineup since then. Toyota Camry Interior 2024
