Intro
The Kia Picanto 2024 is a city car made by KIA. It first came out in 2004 and is sold under different names across Asia. The first-generation Picanto was a five-door hatchback with two gasoline engine choices and automatic transmission. It had many entertainment features and got two updates in 2007 and 2010, mainly improving the outside and inside, including the well-known ‘tiger-nose grille.’
In 2011, the second-generation Picanto was released with a longer wheelbase and a new design. In Pakistan, Kia Lucky Motors assembles the second-generation Picanto, which has a 1.0-liter gasoline engine. It was launched in Pakistan in 2019 and comes in two versions: Manual and Automatic.

Picanto Ride & Handling
The Kia Picanto 2024 is praised for its easy handling and excellent visibility, giving drivers a clear view of the road without any blind spots. This feature makes driving and maneuvering the car very easy. Although the car’s acceleration may feel a bit slow, this is expected from its small 998cc engine.
In terms of suspension, the Picanto stands out with its excellent performance. It effectively absorbs shocks and bumps, ensuring a comfortable ride even on city streets with rough surfaces. This feature enhances the overall driving experience, providing a smooth and enjoyable journey.
Picanto Maintenance
The maintenance of the Picanto is not very difficult since it is locally assembled in Pakistan, although its auto parts are expensive.
Picanto Competitors
The Kia Picanto 2024 competes with the Suzuki Cultus and Suzuki Wagon-R in the Pakistani market. Suzuki has a kind of monopoly in Pakistan’s hatchback market. The company has a strong reputation in the country and a well-established customer base. This is why the Picanto faces tough competition from Suzuki’s most affordable and value-for-money vehicle, the Cultus.
The Cultus has a slightly more spacious interior and is more fuel-efficient than the Picanto. On the other hand, the Picanto beats the Cultus when it comes to modern features such as airbags, ISOFIX, ABS, and more. However, the Picanto is more expensive than the Cultus.
The Wagon-R, with almost the same specifications, competes with the Picanto for its position in the market as an affordable hatchback. The Wagon-R is much cheaper than the Picanto and offers more interior space. On the other hand, the Picanto is a feature-packed car with much more comfort.
