Hyundai Sonata Price in Pakistan 2024
Intro
The Hyundai Sonata is a medium-sized car made by a company called Hyundai from South Korea. It first came out in 1985 after another Hyundai car called the Stellar. But not many people liked the first version, so Hyundai had to stop selling it.
The next version of the Sonata, called the second generation, came out in 1988. This one was much better and was sold not just in its home country, but also in Canada, North America, and Europe. People liked it, especially because it had an engine made by Mitsubishi. In 1999, it got some small changes to its looks.
In 1993, Hyundai brought out the third version of the Sonata with a 2.0-liter engine. It was called Sonata in South Korea but internationally it was sold as Marcia with a few changes to how it looked outside. Then, in 1996, they updated it, changing the front and back of the car and also tweaking the engine.
The fourth version of the Hyundai Sonata came out in 1998. It used something called the Hyundai-Kia Y4 platform. This time, it got bigger, but the space between the wheels stayed the same. Then, in 2001, they updated it again, changing things like the front of the car, the grille, the lights, and where the license plate goes. They sold it all over the world, and you can still find it in South Korea.
The fifth version of the Sonata started in 2004 in Korea and had two engine choices. It arrived in the U.S. in 2005, with safety features already included. Then, in 2008, they updated it again. They changed the engines, made the front of the car look different, added a shiny grille, updated the lights at the back and front, put in fancy headlights, changed the wheels to have 10 spokes, and made big changes inside the car on the dashboard.
The sixth Sonata started in 2009 and stayed around until 2014 when the seventh one came out. The sixth one got some changes in 2012, making it look better outside and inside. Then, in 2014, they brought out the seventh version. They changed it again in 2017, giving it a new look called “Sonata New Rise” in South Korea. It also had a type of Sonata that could be plugged in and charged, called the Plug-in Hybrid.
The eighth Sonata came out in 2019 in South Korea. It looks sporty and has cool features. In Pakistan, you can get two types: the Hyundai Sonata 2.0 and the Hyundai Sonata 2.5.

Hyundai Sonata Engine
The Hyundai Sonata offers two engine options: the Hyundai Sonata 2.0 and the Hyundai Sonata 2.5. The Sonata 2.0 features a 2000cc naturally aspirated engine, delivering a maximum power of 152 horsepower at 6200 RPM and a maximum torque of 192 Nm at 4500 RPM.
On the other hand, the Hyundai Sonata 2.5 is equipped with a 2500cc naturally aspirated engine, producing a maximum power of 180 horsepower at 6000 RPM and a maximum torque of 232 Nm at 4000 RPM. Both variants come with a 6-Speed Automatic Transmission and are 2WD models.

Sonata Ride & Handling
The 2WD Hyundai Sonata 2024 puts comfort first, even though it has a sporty appearance. The engine is geared towards delivering a smooth and relaxed ride rather than focusing on speed. Its handling is steady, and the suspension does a great job absorbing bumps on the road. Overall, the Sonata offers a pleasant and comfortable ride experience.
Sonata Maintenance
Maintaining the Hyundai Sonata 2024 is relatively easy. However, since it’s a new model, finding auto parts might be a bit challenging as they’re not widely available in the market yet.
Sonata Competitors
The Sonata, being Pakistan’s inaugural locally assembled D-segment sedan, doesn’t have direct competition from other locally assembled models. However, it does pose a challenge to the sales of two other imported D-segment sedans: the Honda Accord and Toyota Camry.
The Honda Accord offers similar features to the Hyundai Sonata and boasts larger dimensions. Despite this, the Accord falls into the luxury car category and comes with a significantly higher price tag compared to the Sonata, making the Sonata an appealing choice for many buyers.
Similarly, the Toyota Camry also falls into the luxury car segment and comes with a price tag around double that of the Sonata. This significant price difference further enhances the attractiveness of the Sonata as a more affordable option in the D-segment sedan market.
