McLaren Speedtail price and specs
Overview
The 2020 McLaren Speedtail offers amazing performance and great luxury. It’s very expensive, starting at around $2 million. With a top speed of 250 mph, this car is the fastest McLaren ever made. The Speedtail’s design is smooth and futuristic, looking like something from a sci-fi movie. It has a hybrid engine that makes an impressive 1035 horsepower. If you want to buy one, you’re out of luck. Only 106 of these cars will be made, and they are all already sold.
Engine, Transmission, and Performance
The 2020 McLaren Speedtail has a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V-8 engine and an electric motor that work together to produce 1035 horsepower and 848 lb-ft of torque. It has a special mode called Velocity mode that adjusts the car’s power and handling to reach top speed. This mode also lowers the car by 1.4 inches. The Speedtail’s acceleration is amazing. McLaren says it can go from 0 to 186 mph in just 12.8 seconds. This is faster than the famous McLaren P1, which takes 16.5 seconds to reach the same speed.
Interior, Comfort, and Cargo
The 2020 McLaren Speedtail has special power-operated doors that open up for easy entry. Like the McLaren F1, it has three seats with the driver’s seat in the middle. The driver’s seat is covered in a special leather that makes it easy to slide into but keeps you in place when driving. Instead of sun visors, a strip of special glass at the top of the windshield blocks the sun. The dashboard and passenger seats are covered with leather from Scandinavia. Owners can customize the leather with digital quilting or unique patterns.
Many of the car’s controls, like those for starting the engine and opening the windows and doors, are located in panels above the driver’s head. The controls and switches are made from polished aluminum. McLaren hasn’t shared the Speedtail’s cargo capacity, but there is storage space in the front and back of the car. A custom luggage set that matches the car’s interior is available.
Infotainment and Connectivity
The 2020 McLaren Speedtail comes with high-definition displays and touchscreens. The driver uses these screens to adjust most settings since there are hardly any buttons or switches.
